Money
Over Everything
Is it possible to live without money? Everyone needs
money to survive. In the song, “I Get Money”, 50 Cent writes about making money
and spending it. 50 Cent shows the theme that the world can’t survive without
money. This theme is evident when Coca-Cola bought vitamin water for billions,
when 50 Cent used to sell drugs for money, and when 50 Cent is just bragging about
money.
` The theme of making money is shown
when Coca-Cola bought Vitamin Water for billions. For example, 50 Cent writes,
“I take quarter water sold it in bottles for 2 bucks, Coca-Cola came and bought
it for billions, what the f**k?”(Stanza 2, lines 1-3). This shows that 50 Cent
was sponsored by vitamin water, and then Coca-Cola came and bought it for
billions. This demonstrates the value of money when Coca-Cola bought it for
billions, because they will end up making more money. Both 50 Cent and
Coca-Cola are making money by this deal.
The theme of making money is shown when 50 Cent used to
sell drugs for money. For example, 50 Cent writes, “I used to sell dope; I did
play the block / Now I play on boats, in the south of France.” (Stanza 2, lines
12-15). This shows that 50 Cent used to sell drugs to make money, and now he
spends the money on anything he wants. This demonstrates the value of money by
showing that 50 Cent will do anything for money. How far will one go to make
money?
The theme of making money is shown when 50 Cent is
bragging about how he makes money. For example, 50 Cent writes, “I get Money
money I got, tryna stop my shine / I get money, money I got, I’ll cock my 9.” (Stanza
8, lines 38-41). This shows that if one mess with 50 Cent’s money, then bad
things will happen. This demonstrates the value of money by 50 Cent defending
his money. Don’t mess with one’s money.
50 Cent wants to make money and spend it. The world
revolves around money. My thesis is proven when Coca-Cola bought Vitamin Water
for billions, when 50 cent used to sell drugs for money, and when he is just
bragging about money. If money wasn’t present in the world today, then we would
live in a war-torn world. Money is the motive for living.
